A True Typeface

Earlier in my final year at Christchurch Polytechnic I closely studied emotion and the unique relationship it has with typography. Typography allows letters to have their own voice through a variety of different physical characteristics held by the letterforms.

This prompted me to investigate how the human face and facial expressions (the way we show emotions), influence letterforms. Pulling characters from all over my own face lead to some rather curious, yet beautiful results. The results have been documented below.
26 unique characters.
Five letterforms identified through tightly cropping photographs of my head.
